Eleven Hundred

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Eleven Hundred

Children sleep with sweet dreams of tomorrow;

Young couples hold hands and laugh without sorrow.

They live and they love, yet dwell in a future unseen.

Not now where old men live within their buried dreams.

Eleven hundred titles have now creased the fine lines of time.

Words cast in nary direction seeking their soul in soft rhyme.

I have loved and lost on these pages that nevermore carries hopes tune.

Yet now I understand…love, life and the end of all much too soon.

Eleven hundred titles times a thousand tears

Allen,

Congratulations on eleven hundred titles: you should be proud of your acomplishment. That many more words to honor Leah's life - and your own - may we see triple that. :) Well done.

(((HUGS))) love and prayer, Karla.
