Come Morning

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Today was difficult and I really am unsure why….Even when your mind knows what must be done…sometimes the heart fails to read the mind.

Poem Artwork

Come Morning

I feel enormous in brevity knowing that I have the surety of hope.

Yet still there are times when in the dark silence I fail to cope.

Never have so many emotions and confusion chaffed sore against my soul.

I can only humbly pray that this gentle heart someday again be whole.

Oh of the nights for they are the worst, for that is when the world does sleep.

And all I can do is on my bended knee…pray the Lord my soul to keep.

Yet then comes morning and the soft and gentle whisper of the beautiful dawn.

And I smile once more as a small silver butterfly gives me hope in that of this life I belong.

Oh yes…come morning and the whisperings of dawn.

Stunning! This poem speaks of the same feelings my last two poems did..."Restless" & "Trying to be Whole"
Funny how different feelings can make each of us feel the same way...

I KNOW ABOUT THOSE LONG LONELY NITES AND DON'T LIKE THEM EITHER.
i JUST HAD A BAD DAY THE OTHER mONDAY, BUT SOMEHOW FRIENDS CAME TRHOUGH TO ME AND EVENED IT OUT AND i GOT POSITVE AGAIN.
i KNOW YOU HAVE MANY FRIENDS TO LEAN ON AND DON'T HESITATE TO DO THAT.i DO LOVE THAT BUTTERFLY TOO AND BUTTERFLYS ARE CHEERFUL TO AS YOU SAID AND DO SOMETHING FOR US TOO. sORRY YOU ARE STILL MISSING HER, BUT IT TAKES A LONG LONG TIME FOR TRUE LOVE LIKE WE HAD IN OUR DIFFERENT MARRIAGES TO EVEN FADE AWAY. mAY YOU GET PEACE EVENTUALLY, EVEN IN THOSE LONG NITES AND BAD DAYS.

Thank God for that morning, Allen. And thank God for another day. He will see you through, if you'll let Him - I guarantee it! The butterfly is a sign of hope. Beautiful write and image.

(((HUGS))) love and prayer, Karla.

Very beautiful, emotional writing as usual, Allen. God is with you, behind you, beside, before you. The Lord is your shepherd and He'll see you through. A butterfly, the symbol of renewed life. Precious.

Love, Connie

You will have those days, Allen, and that's okay. That's just part of the grieving process. I have them myself. Please know you're in my prayers/thoughts, and continue to lean on the Lord and on others; we care about you and love you very much! Well done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)
