Poem Artwork
Traces Of Silver

I looked quietly into the nights starry sky and realized again another set of dreams.
I ran my fingers across a braided chain and felt a trace of silver amongst other things.
I felt tender eyes that were upon me like the softness that comes with the break of dawn.
Traces of silver left me longing for something new in finding  a place that my heart belongs.

I have been blessed now by a gentle peace that sleeps like the summers of childhood dreams.
Soft smells dance sweetly in my head as I walk from the darkness into the light of silvery things.
I drop my gaze away from the night sky; I turn and walk away from the white winking moon.
I think someday, oh someday I will just  fly away to a new home in the sun.

There I will lie beneath sunny skies with big palm trees whose fronds with the wind keep time.
I will myself become a butterfly and drink the nectar beneath the warm silvery nights of a now smiling moon.
Yes, someday on those traces of silver that rest now between my fingers and the sweet gift of hope I will find my place soon.

You can't see me, but I am smiling now as I remember  anothers smile.
I still hear that sweet and tender voice that is as soft as angels breath beneat  their wings.
I trace again my fingers along that braided chain and touch that piece of silver amongst other things.

A meaningful poem to me. Becoming a butterfly is not impossible to believe and the silver strands are hardly unknown to me. I find comfort in this poetry in the loss of my Thomas too. Good loving write and immensely soothing too.

(((Allen))),

By the title, thought you were looking at my hair. Now how did all those silver streaks come in, and when?!? (Just kidding)

This is a beautiful, beautiful write of looking back; of moving forward; of hope, for a future. Silver is many things: the quicksilver tracks of tears and the silver lining, after the storms life deals. Well done, my friend.

(((HUGS))) love and continued prayers, Karla.
