To Measure The Heart
We measure the sum our days by the instrument we call time.
They are lain out before us by His mercy and grace.
They are fixed in the beginning only to slowly unwind.
Yet how do we measure the heart when in it affections are found?
Is it measured by the sweet sting of smiles, or by the gaiety of its sound?
Yea, can it even be that the heart can be measured as it is with the passage of time?
Or does it have a call of its own that is born wholly of spirit and not the mind?
I say that the heart sings of its very own song
And that it’s secure in knowing when certain things belong.
So it shall not be measured by the minute, the hour or the day.
For the breadth and the depth of a true heart is immeasurable.
And by the hearts own song it will not err in finding its way.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
Continued prayers, too~
And I'd say that you are right, my friend.
Agape love in these lines - from Father to son, from your heart to ours - thank you. Well done!
(((HUGS))) love and prayer, Karla.
You have great depth in this poem, Allen, and "deep calls to deep"
for the Creator of the heart has immeasurable love and He Who fashioned our hearts after His pattern surely made good reproductions. I am awed by the insight He has given you for this poem..."And by the hearts own song it will not err in finding its way."
Blessed so much,
Cynthia
