Having just returned from work, I come to the Den to read & relax after a very grueling day. Time willing I could read and reply to so…so many beautiful poems scribed by the many talented authors here on the den,,, I then read the responses to my last piece “I will Always Love You” and I wept…I wept for the sincerity of the replies, and the understanding of so many beautiful hearts. I thank you from the very depths of my heart. Believe me when I say this…. YOU CAN NEVER LOVE TOO MUCH. Therefore, love with your all each day that GOD has given you in this journey we call life…

To Measure A Day Against Eternity

Should this heart of mine hold, but a single day in the palm of his hand.

It would be the day when I declared my love for you before God and Man.

I have missed so much your smile and the tenderness of the love in your voice.

I have wept against the backdrop of silence, I have cried because I have no choice.

Should I only measure this day… today against the backdrop of eternity, and time.

My love for you Leah would reach the very edge of the universe, because you were once all mine.

Today we would have smiled, and laughed like we always on our anniversary do.

Yet, I wept in the cold silence today…thinking…loving…and still missing you.

I know in my heart and mind that you are with the Lord Jesus, and in peace.

Oh, but God in heaven only knows how much you meant and still mean to me.

So happy anniversary baby…. and know that today you have consumed my heart and mind.

I LOVE YOU LEAH, AND I WILL FOR ETERNITY, and for all time.

You show me what it is to love. Your smiles and tears, your gratitude and pains. This surely is what the Bible speaks of when it declares that "love is as strong as death and as unyielding as the grave". Your love for Leah conquers both. In you, she lives. Death provides no separation for you, so why should you be forced to acknowledge one? You will journey on in the flesh, but never alone. There is no need to "get over" anything, Allen. Life is just different for you both, that's all... still together, just apart. I feel your words wet upon my mind and my heart. But her ongoing smiles dry them. Bless you - love and prayers, Kate xx

There can be no greater gift for her in heaven on this most special of days when you first shared your love and souls- or was it? Maybe your souls were always linked and always will be, as I think about my brother and I. The love you have for her so lives on the page, that because of that, so does she, she still lives in your beautiful words and I know she is like an angel over your shoulder or sitting on your lap like in this photo, and she is cheering on your words.
