The Carolina Field and The Man On His Knees
He knelt in the open field, his eyes closed, and his face toward heaven.
He could hear the tinkling, soft rustle of leaves as they whispered peace.
Violet, and pink clouds skittered hurriedly, carried by the pursed lips of a northwest wind.
The taste of the Carolina Fall creased his lips, and the leaves still… whispered peace.
Alone and with raised, outstretched hands he began to ever so softy in spirit pray.
The deer walked out from the forest; the doves gathered in pairs on distant line.
The wind picked up in force; the clouds ran and hid away…and he still through it all prayed.
The leaves no longer whispered words peace, but began to with exclamation gloriously sing.
The deer heard and knelt down, the doves began to coo, and the solitary man in the Carolina field opened his eyes.
It was dark now and the moon shone a bright pale in the early Carolina fall sky.
The distant lights of the nearby town twinkled and winked and the man in the field sighed.
He had prayed with all of his heart and listened…but only heard the wind and the trees.
Alone, and crestfallen in the open field, he in the pale white darkness got up to leave.
He sighed once more…then he felt a hand touch his face, and heard a gentle voice…
FRET NOT OF TOMORROW, I AM HE, AND I WILL MEET YOUR EVRY NEED.

(((HUGS))), much love, and continued prayers~
As always, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
Saving this one to savor again and again....:)
Richly imaged, you take the reader to the Carolina fields and make them feel the loneliness of this man on his knees. My new favorite of yours: from the depths of despair to the hope we have in God, oh, this is beautiful. My new favorite of yours (one of many). Well done! You've left me in tears with the power in these lines - thank you.
(((HUGS))) love and continued prayer, Karla.
