The Three Crosses And My Prayers
The sun had just cleared the pines of my Carolina home and my heart was weak.
My journey was one of uncertainty, and I was fearful of the outcome that awaited me.
With my hand on the bible as John David slept, I wound my way quickly to the sea.
Three crosses hung from my mirror, and glints of gold from the morning sun caught my eye.
I thought of the three crosses on the hill where Jesus was crucified for both you and me.
I looked at the sleeping boy beside me and silently prayed that all would be well.
The sun continued its journey as I continued mine; slumber almost overtook me as from the road my eyes fell.
One more hour…thirty more minutes, yet in my heart it seemed like a lifetime.
At last we arrived; my heart heavy in my chest we walked into Jan’s room.
Her smile was as bright as the morning sun as her eyes met mine.
It was then that I knew all was well and I remembered my prayers, the three crosses and how our loved had bloomed.
Thank you Lord Jesus, and to you I give all the praise.

It seems our lives are lived in a kind of parellel. Only in my case it was me with the brain hemorage and it was two weeks ago when they had to open the back of my skull and drain the blood which was pushing my brain against the front of my skull. It made me even more aware of my need for faith and to trust in God. God be with you and yours.
