The Dark Angel
I stood on a tall mountain at the cliffs very edge.
I spied the lush green valley below in all its beauty and grace.
I inhaled the warm clean air as the setting sun fell upon my face.
Serenity could not be any closer to me than it was this day.
Then with the quickness of a simple breath all that was taken away.
Sudden was the clap of thunder; a blinding flash of unholy light.
The skies went from a warm crimson red unto the shadows of night.
Down on the plain below stood a creature with wings black as tar.
I at once recoiled in spirit as I watched this thing from afar.
The clean air had now been replaced with the smell of death.
I turned to runaway, yet the darkness below seemed to have taken my breath.
With each step that the creature took, the green beneath his cloven feet turned to a dusty, dead brown.
I silently cleaved close to the ground lest I to be found.
A flock of geese in formation flew like magic overhead.
The beast turned and looked towards the sky, his eyes fiery red.
It was then from the heavens fell these geese dead.
My heart sighed in disbelief of this sight, as a harmony of ungodly voices rang out into the night.
Groaning; mournful, most grievous of sounds these voices did make.
Fissures molten red began to open in the valley below giving of a stench more than a mortal soul could take or know.
Still to the dust I did cling hoping to hide myself from the dark angels’ eyes.
Ever praying I watched with horror many a sad events unfold.
The dark angel and his legions marched against all mankind with destruction untold.
I tried, I cried, I prayed that the Lord God withdraw me from this dream.
Yet it was in great sadness that I witnessed the destruction of man who failed to acknowledge the KING of KINGS…JESUS
