February Dreams Upon An August Morning
Eyes closed, dreams of a longing heart held near and close.
Wanting waits upon the cat’s feet on the estuaries silent shore.
He hears her voice and he dreams hard and long for the promise of evermore.
The dark tide ripples the sand beneath his weary and worn feet.
He watches as the pale moon grapples with the clouds above the sea.
Again a faint cry is lain upon his gentle; seeking heart.
The sea pounds the shore, the gull sleep no more as his burdens depart.
A warm embrace consumes his longing and shattered soul.
He taste’s the sweet red of tender lips to which make him again whole.
He remembers when death nearly destroyed him; he recalls the silent pain.
Yet the deliverer, his redeemer has again blessed him though unworthy is he the chance to love again beneath the blessings of the crimson stain.
