Take Your Sadness And Go Away

I woke up this morning crying and praying for you.

Perish now the thought of another empty morning blue.

So just take your sadness, just take it and go away.

Run; oh run as fast as you can until your shadow sets you free.

I only did what I had to do when from my arms I let you slip away.

Yet still to this only, it is your sadness that you left me in your wake.

Then one day to my chagrin I looked up and saw a man pushing eighty.

I thought long and hard on these grueling days of darkness as they lay beneath my feet.

I pondered the bizarre; twisted and broken trail of life’s endless chore.

Her sadness still sung its song as the winter wind fell silent by my door.

I still wake up crying; I still pray that your sadness took flight.

Yet I cannot help but now wonder what would be if you had not left that night.

………………..I’m so sorry……….I wish that you had stayed….

                                               I Think

A sad and timeless theme in this life/world; very compelling verses the words of which echo in the soul of the reader. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Regis
