The Pernicious Truth
We are but a dream which sleeps on the whispers of angel wings.
For life is but a shadow, transient in its essence, born upon dreams.
No more of the morrow do empty promises keep…
Only in our mortality are we forced to succumb, and weep.
Lives slip away like screams upon a dark and starry night.
Fading glimpses of hope preen before deaths half light.
The nothingness prevails as the solitude of truth subsides.
Forever forgotten we, by all whilst the spirit wholly dies.
I once kissed a dream; I once held a heart of pernicious truth.
I have felt the stone cold lines of the sepulcher which marks my day.
I realize the shadows that chase my dreams; I taste nothing as I slip away.
Voices sing their silent tunes that only I to this dream do hear.
Its over…it never was, for it was only a whisper kissed by fear.
Never mind the dream for it in the totality of reality does not exist.
For we all are but a vapor that culminates unto a vanishing mist.

A beautiful well-written piece.

Never mind the dream for it in the totality of reality does not exist.
