He Walks Now in Quiet Desperation

17: And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit. 18: For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
Ecclesiastes 1- 17-18

Poem Artwork

He Walks Now in Quiet Desperation

Vestiges of light walk in tandem with darkest of night.

Innocence bright on youth’s happy dreams-

Lost in the darkness of none-

not even a memory remains of joy that life brings.

Soon his days walk into years and time willingly marches on.

Knowledge is gained; wisdom of life now grows hearts stain-

Thus cometh the impending shadows of night to madly bemoan.

For he walks now in quiet desperation-

His memories best forgotten his heart impaled.

Oh this soft place once born of God-

weeps now in silence on youth’s virgin shore.

Oh…OH how the years they still come-

Come now do they laden with familiarity-

Stealing…killing…driving out; trying to annihilate-

Trying to oppress the last glimpses of naiveties light-

Blemished now are they-youth’s happy dreams.

Dreams once so pure-

sown now not in trust, but with corruptions seed.

Very well written. Keep in mind Christ once walked that walk which lead him to a tree.
God bless,
