“Thank God, Thank God: My Radiation Treatments are OVER”

This is for the radiology/ oncology technicians at the Cancer center in Anderson, South Carolina. Audrey, Lori. Rhonda and Jana" My thanks ever are unto you. Today I shall ring the bell, the bell which I have heard before. It is but a simple and solemn thing, yet it will signify that my radiation treatments have come to a close.

Your job is not just a job, but for many it is the seeds of hope. I remember my first treatment and how scared I was. yet you all were there with a smile and a soft pat on the back. Throughout it all, you still smiled when I did not feel like smiling. You laughed at my corny jokes when I felt like joking, yet it in reality that was just my way of trying to cope.

I have seen cancer now from both sides now, the in's and up's along with the downs. With the loss of my late wife to cancer, my diagnosis hit me pretty hard. Each morning I, as you see the faces of others and I remember her last hour and for those I see: "I pray.

I shall miss your kindness. I will miss the humanity and compassion that you have shown. Yet I shall not miss the treatments and the way they along with the hormone shots made me feel, but I will miss you all and the tenderness that your hearts revealed. Therefore
may HE who controls all things forever bless your lives. For by your hand and by your heart you give hope to others that they may too
survive. Thank you all so much"

Life Is Like A Flower

Our lives are as those of the flower; woven by the hand of God.
Many are the colors which bloom in all the seasons of our life.
Were born from the earth; born from a simple, yet complex seed.
The breath of life comes like the gentle rain that nourishes our soul.
The blessings which fall from heaven give grace to our days as we grow.

We bloom most brilliant in our youth; the days of our gentle spring.
We dance on the summer wind in meadows that grow lush and green.
Then come the years of our autumn. we dance a little less. our colors begin to fade.
The meadows of our life, once green are hued in golden brown and the skies begin to turn gray.

Now we as all things which live and breathe begin to slowly wither.
The snows arrive in our lives giving way to the years of our winter.
We shall soon bow our heads; this, the cycle of life is now at last complete.
Yet all is not lost, for within our hearts and souls carry we tomorrow's seeds.

The seeds of wisdom tried and tested by the days of our lives under the sun.
The seeds of hope which will in another spring blossom and grow.
Seeds of life which bloom beyond the last of winters soft light.
For it is by these, our seeds that in tomorrow's meadow green we become known.
