Sweetness falls from unseen places, unknown to others but grace to others.

Poem Artwork

The Butterfly

Springs soft touch; the soft warmth of a new day fills the air.

I alone in the early morning silence taste the sweet essence of flowers in a day filled without burden or care.

The warm morning sun; the sounds of the awakening morning songbirds fill the air.

I smile softly at the sweetness of the day and I revel in a life so fair.

Dew drops cling to those my flowers of a glorious spring.

The sun falls in the morning shadows and I watch a small Butterfly to my early spring flowers cling.

I watch from a distance as from flower to flower it flitters and land,

Taking in the nectar, wrought of my labor and land.

It reminds me of a sweet lady I know.

Her smile is pleasing, her heart born of compassion.

And she like the butterfly to one’s heart softly sings.

I know her as Emily and when she walks and talks, she like The Butterfly flitters and flutters to the listening heart, she in a soft voice quietly sings.

Few are these who dance softly amongst the flowers and trees.

Yeah, few are those who bring a smile to everyone each and every day.

Yes, oh yes, she is a butterfly in my heart and soul.

So thus the connection to life eternal;

Formed by the circle to souls unknown.

This is dedicated to Emily The Butterfly.

We spent our Easter Sunday at Logans Steakhouse in Anderson and Emily, our waitress, made our day so special with her beautiful smile and amazing personality. But then every time we go there everyone treats us like family...
