A Flower Blooms Amongst A Field Of Tares

A lone flower blooms in an eternal spring.

I know her only as Kayla

And each and every time I see her,

I feel about her a presence unto man which is unseen.

She is a moral compass in a field of chaos.

She, like the lone lily in the future shall have much to reveal.

Wherefore thou should a flower such as she exists?

Born now thereof in a world of silent and secret fear.

Yet harken only to this flowers gentle smile;

Hear the truth born soft of a heart so mild.

Rare be these lone flowers which grow amongst the scrub and dying trees.

Kayla is her name and unto me and mine she is, and always will be a blessing to me.

For even a lone flower in a field of tares can bless our souls and eternal dreams.

Second in a new series of poems/short stories of our favorite eating place...

This is another one of the friendly people of Logan's Roadhouse in Anderson where we find ourselves going nearly every Sunday for a late afternoon lunch. This is Kayla and like all the friendly staff, always has a beautiful smile and will stop and talk to us whether we sit at her table or anothers. How can you not help returning over and over, when you are treated like family (and the steaks and all the rest of their menu is great)...See ya'll next week and Lucas, you're next....LOL

BTW...Should I be jealous that you have your picture taken with a different pretty lady every week...Just joking ya'll, I took the shot...LOL

Kayla appears to be a great inspiration for your poetic mind.
