Tara The Summer Breeze
The hot summer sun beats down on the Carolina asphalt.
A sign by the roadway called to our hearts and said it will be Logan’s this day.
We didn’t know what to expect when we walked into the crowded bustling room.
All we were wanting was a good meal and then go home soon.
To our surprise, we were greeted with a waitress named Tara with beautiful eyes.
Her smile lightened the dim atmosphere of the room.
We ordered our steaks, and she smiled, a most pleasant smile and said they will be here soon.
Her gentile nature brought a smile to my face,
Her personality and demeanor was like unto the summer breeze and its eternal grace.
She made us laugh and in some ways if the heart listens,
She made us cry.
She was a lady of sincerity whose integrity for many who would belie.
She would sit and talk and tell us about her day.
We knew of her hardships and at home we would silently pray.
Yet, like the summer breeze that cometh on winds unknown.
She in her own way blessed us in the ways that leads the heart home.
Tara, what a beautiful name,
Your effort, your struggles we understood and felt your pain.
Life moves on as you did too.
But when you left us alone at Logan’s,
We were sadden and blue.
We wish you the best in all of your endeavors that you take to hand.
So Tara, thank you for being that warm smiling summer breeze that welcomed us with open heart and left our souls feeling at ease.
You are a gem which lies amongst the scrubs and stones.
Know this, that we shall never forget you and in our hearts you’ll never be alone.

Wonderful tribute to Tara. I hope somehow she reads this.
Many blessings,

When my niece was in college she worked as a waitress in a Big Boy right off the main highway. My brother told me where she worked, so I dropped in one day as I passed through on a 1000 mile trip. She wasn't around when I first sat down. Another waitress came to give me the menu. When Kelley appeared from the back of the restaurant, two guys at a table near mine piped up and called for her, calling her, “Sunshine.” That attitude got her lots of tips and now she is manager of a sales force covering five states. I'll bet that some of her customers can't wait to hear her cheerful voice on the phone, or better yet, in person with her smile and sparkling eyes.
