Allen; I was living but I was dead…

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Last night Allen wrote this note to me and it brought back the first year and what we went through when we met. Him still in grief over losing Leah. And then into our ninth month of dating me having an brain aneurysm while visiting him for the evening. We have been there for each other through thick and thin and will continue to as long as the good Lord allows us to be. Here is his letter:
8-11-2014

My Dearest Jan…

If I should never see the morrow again,
Know that you have given me more than a man could ever dream of.

Your love is unconditional…
Your love is true
And from the depth of my heart I will always love you…

For without you,
After I lost Cecile,
I would have been gone,
Naked before God and sentenced to eternity in Hell.

Bottom line is…
I love you
And your love saved my life!

I love u Baby…

Allen; I was living but I was dead…
Jan; I was dead and you brought me back to life…

These are the words we both know are true .
He was a broken man who didn’t have a clue.
His love while holding in his arms breathed her last breath,
Taking with her; his heart, his soul , his very depth.

He sat beside her resting place,
Every day trying to remember her face.
He could no longer see her, was their life just a figment in his head.
He was just living but he was like the walking dead.

Then along came Jan and his heart began to beat.
Allen knew in an instant that this girl he had to meet.
They talked, they laughed and they cried.
Then the seed of love that grew, they no longer could hide.

As time flew by, from each other they could not stay away.
Until the night she too died in his arms, he said it would not end this way.
He breathed life back into her, this love was not going end today.

Lord, you took away my Leah and now you want my Jan.
How could you do this, to this already broken man?

Then breath she did and opened her eyes,
Today was not her day to die.
She was dead and he brought her back to life, this was not the day for another good-bye.

Now they live for each other, there’s no other way.
Then loving and living forever and a day.

Yes Jan, you saved him and he saved you and now your stuck with each other...my condolances to you Jan as he is such a pain in the ass, he works too much and writes too little but I guess you too are meant for each other...so keep on keepin' on, keep doing whatever it is you are doing as you both need each other and in all seriousness, ARE AS I SAID EARLIER, MEANT FOR EACH OTHER...-e-
