Loving Beyond Death
Today, Sunday I would have celebrated my 27th anniversary.
And two weeks later, Leah’s birthday and we would have been in our favorite place, a quaint little place called Tybee Island.
However God’s plans is far above those in the sight of man,
And on her birthday He swept in spirit and took her away.
At that point in my life, I felt all dreams were over.
I had people say ‘relax my son, she’s in a better place.’
God, oh God, how I hate that cliché;
Yet God’s ways are higher than ours and at that time I could not see beyond that hour.
I left the hospital that very night and I wept like a child in the darkest of darken night.
I questioned why, I pounded my fist into the air, I challenged God and into Him ‘How do You dare?’
In my sleep of that very night,
She came to me and sat upon our bed
And begged of me with her to take flight.
I recognized at once that the demon this must be,
And I plead the blood of Jesus to set me free.
A year or so passed, lost in the wilderness was I,
Stumbling like a child in the darkness of night.
Then one day on an online sight,
A lady that I knew not of gave me a smiley and a simple like.
We began talking and laughing, which I had forgotten for over a year how to do.
We dated and then in my heart it was Jan that I should have and that God and only God knew.
I knew the moment, the very moment that I saw her smiling face,
I knew in my heart that she would be my true love that of Leah she would replace.
Four years now have passed and I am glad to call her my loving wife.
For she is everything that I needed to carry on in this world of burden called life.
She lifts my spirit, each and every day.
With warm and gentle hugs and a smile as I go on way.
I could not live with out her.
For she is so much and I repeat so much like the woman that God called home,
She makes me smile, she makes me laugh and she keeps me on the straight and narrow way.
So even in questioning why God took Leah,
I have an answer and her name is Jan and I love her in every way.
I can not begin to tell you the warmth or the radiance that beams forth from her eyes.
I applaud her beauty and the depth of her love for me, I could never surmise.
How blessed am I to find love twice in a single simple mans life?
Seldom and very few are given a second chance with another loving wife.
Therefore I close with these heartfelt notes,
Jan my love, I will love you forever, I will love you more than you ever know.
These are the same words that I said to my late wife Leah.
I found it to be true , I found her love as Jan’s to be exact and real.
Even though this is a hard month for me, I am thankful to God for Jan,
My true love who has set me free.
I love you Baby and I always will, I will love you to my last breath and my body lay still.
I rejoice in the fact that I know you and you know me.
And together we celebrate life in the land, our land of the free.
