Roses Of War

"War, What Is It Good For?" "Absolutely Nothing"

Wednesday, October 1, 2003

Seeds of hate sown upon fertile minds,

Lending to myriads of faceless believers

Caught in the evil of these times.

Numbed by terror and blinded by fear,

Their numbers continue to grow

Like the black roses of war that

Unmercifully fill every hillside.

Vines of shame, with thorns of disdain,

They multiply, spreading mistrust,

Choking the essence of freedoms pain.

They crawl like angry serpents

From a rancid shallow grave,

Blotting out the hope of peace,

Destroyers of life and all that remains.

that would change their constitution, fling them
like comets
burning through midnight sea of stars. Turn your back
or hide in your heart’s darkness and still her warmth will
find you. Stand too close, you will become but a shadow
of yourself.

Your message is clear.. and I for one agree!!! Excellent write!!

I agree with Taylor, wonderful opening line! Excellent poem! War is NOT good! It is a horrific thing. Nothing comes of it but evil ways in my opinion.

I am sorry you are still so sad. Happier days will come again soon.
