Time Has Come

There come a time when we all shall see...the setting of our sun

Wednesday, November 5, 2003

Poem Artwork

 The time has come

 for this old solider

 to face the setting sun.

with battles all fought

there’s nothing  to win.

For the time has come,

For me to pack it in.

I gave it the good fight,

I tried withal to do what is right.

Though the race was long

And the battles were many,

It is time to move on.

Looking back, I can now see,

Everything that eluded me.

I burnt my years fighting for right,

Yet, in the end, it was evil that won.

It is time now, to face the setting sun.

 Time keeps marching,

Left, right,

Left, right,

I march

Into the

Night.

I like your attitude, but I don't agree that evil has necessarily won yet. Keep on truckin' .
