Forever And A Day (Pegs Challenge )

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

I know that nothing but love last forever, its just somethings only seem that way.

Sunday, November 9, 2003

 Smiling seas, with gentle breeze,

 holding hands of blissful eternity.

Long talks, romantic walks,

Giving forth to loves dreams.

  zzz

Forever and a day, is what they say,

When equating to love and eternity,

Yet forever can be seen in another way.

   zzz

Forever is darkness,

with the absence of light.

Forever is a child,

 whom by war or plight,

Has seen their parent’s die,

and the grief remain.

Forever is everyday

 to the mentally ill,

Lost always

in the chasms of a mind insane.

Forever is the sorrow,

When laying a loved one to rest.

So you see,

Forever can be seen

 in many ways.

Forever can be,

what you wish it to be,

Merely by the choices,

 you make each day.

Some choose wrong

 and others right,

For which

 in the scheme of things

equals

To forever and a day

 and a night.
