Through the darkness he comes creeping
Throughout the land he goes seeking.
Past a small child who lay
Sleeping
Into a room where a mother lay weeping.
Be not afraid this stranger did say
As he reached out his
Hand to touch
Her head
Weeping still, she began to pray.
“The night is short but the journey is long”
He gently whispered as she rose from her bed.
Her time had come,
Her days were now done
And.
With dark hollow eyes,
He too began to cry
As the mothers spirit fled
Gone, gone into a darkness
That we all must dread.
Once again his mission complete
On into the night he continues to seek.
We all know his name
We fear and we worry for,
That moment in time,
When upon us he too may call.
Listen though and receive this truth that I do tell
He has no power or hold upon the soul.
So do not fear
For death has no victory here.
For the light of heaven has made this decree.
“Believe thou in ME and ye shall be free
For eternal life, I shall give thee”.
