From a distant shore I stand and gaze,
through eternity’s iridescent haze.
I watch my friends that I once knew,
As they in all their might,
play out their earthly days.
I see, yet their eyes do deceive
for when they look my way,
there is no remembrance of me,
for I am neither night nor day,
All they know, is my eyes did close,
And my soul did pass away.
And this journey of mine has now been made,
and this however, I must say.
All that was preached before is true .
For the streets here are indeed paved in gold,
and there are fields of flowers in every hue.
They stretch across plains whose breadth is untold.
Angels voices soft of tune, ignite the rapturous air,
Sending forth songs galore in melodious force
that resound from pillars of fire.
Emitting ever so softly the harmony of love so fair.
The day is eternal, for there is no night here,
For a thousand suns dance atop a golden throne,
And neither is sorrow or pain mine to bare.
It is all and more that my earthly mind was told,
And the joy is unspeakable
For it is more than the mortal mind can behold.
So here I stand on this golden shore,
waving at those whom I once did know.
I scream and shout, from above mist and cloud
For I too want them to see heaven eternal glow.
I want them to see,
I want them to come hither,
to gather their wings and follow me.
But alas,
I know it is to no avail,
For they, and they alone,
must choose their way.
However,
I shall stand by a golden throne
To welcome all
this journey made.
