Loves Stand

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Monday, January 5, 2004

If I haven’t told you here of late,

This is what  to you I have to say,

I love you more and more, each passing day.

For you fill my life with all that is sweet and kind.

You are a gift from heavens door…you are mine.

So how can I really say, how much I love you this day

Should I say, it be but through my gentle kiss,

or as an ode to you for this delightful bliss.

Should I recall unto you, but one more time,

the depth of my loves flow and how you make it to shine.

For the ways are countless for this of me to proclaim,

Yet I fear, this does not justice in the splendor of loves name.

So my dear, if I have not told you of late, let me this day say.

I love you like the eternal sea, whose tidal songs fill my day,

granting me a velvet grace upon loves hidden shore,

casting silver strands upon golden sands, our love evermore.

So sing with me this morning’s song, hold tight my hand.

For all of eternity, we shall proclaim, how in love…we stand

If every man could write poetry like this for his
love...there would be no more divorce courts...or
at least a vast dwindling of them.
A most tender write, J. Allen

Beautiful words of love ...
You have a romantic heart my friend..
I'm sure your wife knows you love her
but women never hear it enough. Never
cease to tell her how you feel.
