Across the line
I saw a glimpse
into your tormented mind.
I felt of your pain,
And I saw you fold
As the years of hurt…
and abuse took their toll,
they robbed of you,
a still young wife,
the joy from your soul.
Yes, oh yes…
From across the line you came,
never more to return to your life of pain.
For you beheld the echoes of fear,
As he, in his drunken stupor neared,
Hiding, lying, just buying your time
for your escape
for…your way out of here.
Yes, today, you crossed the line.
And now it is you doing time.
Yet from him, you no longer fear.
Gone are the beatings…along with his lying.
Never will he…or they reappear.
Now you have…that sweet peace of mind.
For today…you crossed the line.

Your poetry is filled with powerful heart wrenching emotions, and your words speak volumes...I felt this in many ways.
Wonderfully composed!

Your words tear at my heart for this situation
is going on more than we know. It is heartbreaking
and so sad. Abuse can steal away your self esteem,
your will, your strength. This touched me in so
many ways, my friend. This one goes in my library
and on my fridge.
AWESOME!!
