The days of sorrows, coupled with an unsure tomorrow,
Linger now like memories on the balustrade of an unruly past.
in rapid succession, they like the nonstop silver crescent
of my enamored youth, roll in haste as if hell’s fury will forever last.
Yet still on the tracks of life I stand, watching the time go by…
watching and waiting for the ever so lonesome whistles cry.
Standing fast on the tracks that point to the future and the past,
Tis no wonder, that ever so somber, this station in life I roam.
For yesterday is a dream, which is no longer, and today is almost gone.
Yet still, I search for that perfect ride, with Rhapsody in my arms.
Hanging on to yet another day, and willfully succumbing to her charms.
Arise self, I say, arise, for sweet Rhapsody is on her way…
Then I hear the conductor say…”All Aboard…All Aboard,
For those that are going home”…
Oh I beg a favor now, of those who read these lines,
Tell sweet Rhapsody…I had to go, and for me….
Kiss her goodbye.

Beautiful poetry!
Love, Sheila
I could feel the longing in this.
This one is a keeper for my library.
