Red rock of canyon vista’s
Pale blue horizon

Soft and sweet scented
Velvet beneath my bare feet
Emerald green sward

Stalagmite ascends
Magnificent cathedral
Natures’ creation

Twilight is falling
Suns’ last rays colour the clouds
Tree in silhouette

Squirrel is peeking
Ready to run up the tree
If I see him too

Pylons striding through
Our beautiful countryside
And Spoiling the view

Cherry blossom falls
Floating gently down to earth
confetti petals

white orchid bending
turning face from strong sunlight
hides in the shadows

Moth touches the flame
Mesmerised by the candle glow
Fluttering wings burn

Bird of prey hovers
Plummets earthwards like a stone
One House Martin dead

Flock of birds pursue
The murderous Sparrowhawk
And chase him away

~

House Martins chatter
To their offspring in the nest
Tucked under the eaves

~

Silver Birch singing
Breeze rustling through dancing leaves
Silver tinkling notes
