I – Paths in the Afternoon
You open, in the afternoon, a path of ripe berries…
They could be poems, or merely warm sonorities
travelling from a perspective ripened many autumns ago
at northeast of wild colours
sown upon the wind…
It could be that I wish nothing but to rest my thoughts
on your shoulder, and then, within that shelter
to start deliberately untangling from the brambles of impression
the essential, sweet voices that I reap, one by one
along the sensed path…
That path open between your lips and mine
where the afternoon could well turn into all the berries
tasted…
Could it be now, love?

Every path grows in beauty as we stroll hand-in-hand,
travelling from and within ever-ripening perspectives.
Let us continue to sow our wild colours upon the wind
and reap the sweet voices, one-by-one, that echo along
the path between your heart and mine. Yes, Love, it could
be now, it is now and it will forever be now.
With ever-ripening Love,
Joseph
