We Fall Asleep as Dreams Awaken

We fall asleep as newly born dreams awaken in our breaths
skin to warm ripple upon skin, lips moistly flavoured of more than a kiss
legs entwining steps of a dance that does not end after the ultimate glow
yes, the glow of a whole universe cascading in stars and heard as the music
of heights, of depths, of that unutterable composition of the absolute
so complex, so simple, really, if we sense it as blood pulsing, or a rustle
of linen under completions spooning, or as a secret whispered by
a butterfly of transformation glimpsed just as it takes flight behind
the shrine and cocoon of our eyelids in the darkness of a room
a room, like this where we fall asleep as if we were taking flight
into the wholeness of space, you still inside me and I still enfolding
this reciprocal desire of pervading much more than body
and conceivably touching the meaning of soul, in a serene
eagerness of wave that comes and goes, of shore that stays
and yet never remains the same, after such inherent tides.
Your hand and my breast coalesce one harmony of gift
and of receiving the freedom of closeness, the closeness
of freedom, which still tingles upon your chest as one
with my back, and still casts unrepeatable silhouettes
of moments and flames about the walls. Walls that could
not be there at all, screens, as they are, of endless
widely open visions at the distance of a mere sigh.
A sigh that conjures all memories in the full oblivion
of truly reaching eternity, when we fall asleep as
newly born dreams awaken in our breath.

Oh Xuxa,

Anyone who reads this merely as words will not understand the depth of love that this poem expresses. For me, it is like a freshly painted canvas whose colours I can touch, see, smell, taste and hear as they dance upon the fingertips of my mind while they seep into the very pores of my spirit, in the same way that you and I are able to melt into one another. And my happiness is found in the blessing of knowing that we have many more moments, like this one, yet to create together. Yes, those are the dreams still to be born as we continue to awaken within each others´s breath.

Amo te muito,
Teu Joseph

the intimacy of physical contact carries over in the dreamscape ... "newly born dreams awaken in our breath" fantastic conclusion to this most inspired poem ...

Sweet as the nectare of bees this poem spins the reader into the thoughts of the writers mind and the beauty of her images contained there and just when it tends to lull the reader a simple erotic gesture transforms the poem into full rapture that excites and pleases the reader. So perfect as always Alexandra.

Felix
