Sometime during the second half of last year, I wrote this poem of paradoxes, which I posted, in its original version in Portuguese, in “Escritas” – a literary Yahoo group of which Joseph and I have been members for a while. Here is now its translated version, which I hope you will enjoy.

It is all that is not
That is it, all that it is not. It is that avidity that fills up with satiety, it is that empty abundance. It is that exasperated impassivity, it is that rage, placid and serene. It is that smile composed in order not to bite, it is to bite again the sorrow, bitter, till blood sprouts upon sweet petals of lips. It is that kiss, and it is not giving it. It is that tenderness and it is shredding one’s skin as we recoil the nails in the caress. It is the other skin not being to blame. It is to write crumpled phrases to crumple them even further into balls. And to toss them into the water, so that someone will not read them, as they leak, suddenly flat. It is all that is not to be what that is: somberly nothing, and clearly its opposite like the two faces of one same face that turns its face away.
This poem is worthy of much more than a single reading. It leaves the reader thinking and wanting to know more. Thank you, Alexandra. Love and peace to you,
I think you just proved that opposites attract. LOL A deep look, indeed, Alexandra. I loved this kaleidoscopic trip. Love and {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}},

The positive feeling that compells us to push ahead with something, or the state of being satiated and unable to take on more - what separates these mindsets?
Is it simply the long swing of the pendulum - the yin and yang of the diametrically opposed sides ... a long stretching Sahara, waterless, forboding ... a thin indiscernible line, like a transparent membrane where both are aware of each other and eventually become electrical energy firing back and forth between two synapses.
You use oxymorons effectively dear Alexandra - that being "empty abundance" and "exasperated impassivity". I observe this being a state of being annoyed, or out of patience, placed side by side with apathy or the absence of emotional reactions.
Without being too burdensome, I know this place you write of, this place of seeming opposites. I found a gold mine there and have a tent pitched and also a certain amount of supplies stashed to tide me over when I visit. Which quite frankly is almost every time that I create something.
It is that place that makes no sense but renders wisdom for the asking. That place where dreams become paths to be taken in faith to reach new goals. That place where what has passed under the bridge for us personally becomes life for someone else down the stream.
Stunning insights from the mind of an artistic intellect ... Forgive my rambling!

You are so brilliant at seeing things from multiple perspectives and then helping others to visualize all the possibilities through your words.
Adoro te muito,
