Poem Artwork

Who can be blue with red hair
flowing as swans come calling

Yet, I yearn to cross the ocean where
my lover has gone, forever longing

When time stood still, an indelible time
for two lovers engaging awe of splendor
exploding with fusion of body and soul

A prior understanding. not withstanding,
never to know of each other again

I, soul searching, exploring deep within,
beyond the azure of my questioning eyes
could  we  have  overcome  former
commitments while filling an ocean with
my endless tears

Blue forget-me knots now adorn my
hair, where once he stroked softly
his fingertips so gentle with love

I know he pines for me, for detail
remembered, the way it used to be
vastness of space just can not erase

Now my aging eyes to dry up that
ocean, please come back my love

An awesome piece of writing as usual and the play on words tends to make it a little more unique.

The longing heart of a love that was lost tears at the heartstrings of this reader. As your thoughts span the ocean, knowing your loved one also pines for you... is so heartbreakingly tender that moist tears mark the face as anguish does the soul. Exceptional write!

Your "Blue forget-me-knots" verse is a little gem, it conveys your message perfectly. I like the not/knot play on words. The lost love theme has brought out the best in you.

A longing heart and soul reaching out poetically for a lover long gone, but not forgotten. I absolutely love this line, "Blue forget-me knots now adorn my hair," Forget-me knots. Yes.
