Nice little rural idyll; the pace fits the theme perfectly and not everybody can pull that writing trick off. Like the play on dear/deer.

This periodic sentience proves why you are the undisputed mistress of the epigrammatic, a paragon of closure, a nymph of nimble lines, and a fey fairy of lyrical allegory. Dear Vivian, this is a dear poem indeed.
Love the way you weave your imagery... but there is no hollow in this deeply resounding echo of a poem! Truly a delight.
