Falling down now
that's all I seem to do
can't seem to pull out of it
since I no longer have you
this loneliness has inprisoned me
it holds me against my will
where is the joy I used to feel?
I wonder, do you hurt as much as I do?
I know you must, if you loved me
as much as I still love you
why are we lonely and apart?
what reason are we
breaking each other's heart?
These days without you
I walk around in a daze
I know you must feel this pain, too
love's revolving door swings both ways
I need the constance of you by my side
the door to my heart is still open
my arms are still open wide
Falling down again, don't want to fall no more
can't seem to pick my heart up from the floor
so it goes, in my world of blue,
so it goes, these days without you.
This poem reminds me of another, sadder time in my life, eight years ago now. The man was a fool for turning his back on what we had. Apparently he thought soulmates came along everyday. Am I still angry? No, not really. But it makes me sad to remember.
