In Feburary I suffered a chronic renal failure, coming close to death, I spent a month in hospital recovering. Here;s my story in verse

FACING DEATH.

I was ill when death and I came face to face,
For me though it was not yet the time and place,
I had made my peace and yes I was prepared to die,
But once again but for the Grace of God, there go I,

Goodbyes were said and I faced the possibility without dread,
I put my trust in God’s will, that’s what I said,
A grey wall descended, I seemed to be suspended in space and time,
Somewhere in a continuum without form or design,

I have been told that I trod that very fine line,
Twixt life and death, at times it was so hard to define,
I knew nothing of this battle to preserve my life here on earth,
Waged by those who had the knowledge to bring me back from death,

I have so many to thank for bringing me back to life,
A loving family, the prayer and support of a loving wife,
To the dedicated care, of specialists, doctors and nursing staff,
Who cared and guided me back on a recovery path,

I count myself most fortunate, to have been blessed with God’s healing Grace,
For the medical expertise and knowledge of those who serve within that place,
The dedicated caring of all who brought me back to health,
So that now my life has a new dimension of hope and wealth.
