The Forest has it's Own Atmosphere

THE FOREST

Autumn days ;sunlight pourimg through the trees
Muted sounds faintly through the forest heard,
Filtered light throwing shadows onto carpets of leaves,
Cathedral like echoes with the calling of birds.

A thick carpet layered over many many years,
Has the look and feel of velvet amongst it’smany tiers,
Russet browns, redswith faint patches of green,
Form a brilliant pattern, that is only in a forest seen.

Trees so tall, their tops are hidden in a canopy far overhead’
Green and blue so mingled, now and then a flash of red,
As groups of parrots fly noisily from bough to bough,
Breaking that majestic silence just for now.

Silently one can move between these massive trunks,
Which for many many years have borne the brunt,,
Of natures whims of fire. Flood and storm,
Standing tall in silent testimony with trunks well worn,

If one is silent in this quiet space , a glimpse of wildlife may take place,
A small squirrell or a rabbit with a twitching nose,
With quiet patience one ame even see a fawn or doe,
Or a alrge buck with antlers tall, may come and go.

A cathedral like silence is present there;
And I can be so still, and breathe the cool pure air,
Meditating upon God’s great grace,
In providing for me, this wonderous place.
