 Angel
(english sonnet)

No earthly being noticed how she died.
She seemed to slip from this side to the next
on shafts of moonlight where the worlds collide
and heaven's realm with this one intersects.
She left no sign of footprints where she walked
among the throngs of souls whose time she trod.
So brief and slight, her slender life was stalked
and slid, unseen, returned too soon to God.
She hovers now between the earth and sky—
this gentle child who left no lasting mark,
and no one sees the figure floating by
that flickers like a candle in the dark.

So few can hear the mournful song she sings-
a wisp of innocence on angel's wings.
