The metric conversion standard

'ad had der fill
of the worlds missing mirths
An' started a' bank instead
on a less strengtheous museing
At der
Newly owned and private cassino
dey 'ad coveted from
the metric table
dey 'ad sleep on
an' abutted to
an' practically the same
as a bank.
A' rest der minds
'less der gamble of both der beds
and der universal economic ranks
dey was held at alone
at der bank
a' turn out rank
Rank !!!!
Of de poor fellows' losses
and sleeping and tosses
and de ladies cursed crosses
dey could no longer amend
with a pen.
But at least
dey was left with
a prestigeous gambling casino
was almost as powerfull as a bank.

An' so dey say:
What in lay 'yard
but a laymans
hand and pen-
-ti-meter well
hung at der bank.
