THE roads a turned a node
either pushed a forced upon me
a weight
or the wind
as a winning one eyed bandit
'ad lend my fortunes to a loser
win once at the table
And blows
at his back
And at his front
a fortune in his hand
And chased
by
the wind a' set
straights its staights
A' see a lost sea at sea
the horses of fate
see saw with the waves
the cutting losses
of a sawn horse
a' chasing his own shadows a' sea
he usually not seen anyways
any days his luck happen stand
and his fortunes stand a' thread
less or more the same
"Stand over there!"
"Now move over there"
Say when "If he passes by again"
"Ad walked off with the dinner of the man at his left
Took all the soap of the man
in the bath
Looked in the skirt of the girl
at the counter
And who ever knew him
or grew with him
Is somewhere without him
As the dollar put on the table
is somewhere else
And the paper with her phone
number is missing
And the bank with his money
closed early the day
he would 'ave
found a million in bullion
in the hand of the man
he 'ad picked from the ground
at an inch from
the lazy mans' bluff
an' one simple mile from the corner
OF THE EARTH
Where the angry ole wind
known a good man robbed of a good luck
always nearly caught his crook
belonged only in a book
Was the only words he 'ad heard
when he left that day
"Dont look back"
an' when he sees place his hand
on her shoulder
there is only a wind at his back
'ad never glanced back
an' only blow a catch a crook
somewhere else the earth
had crossed his path
Never stand or seen anywheres
was the old mans' food
the bath mans' soap
the catch on her dress
or the dollar at the bank
Sick of an ill wind of fate
cause a sore
cause only a better man's fate
look same as a heal with a healed sore
of no learned lesson
run from the wind
and an unearned lucky fate
