Don't lock up their glow as if it it were mere shine
nor stop their plucky flight or shake the jar real good
Fairies are born to be free so feel the magic blare
treat them always with affection and loving kindness
Fairies are fireflies in disguise and they hypnotize
shapeshifting and forever producing light,
pixies, sprite little creatures that flit and flutter
dancing beneath the moonlight like glassy toys
No they don't belong in jars for your entertainment
Yes they do love to play catch me if you can, so don't.

I had a real life fairy friend!! She wore fairy wings and painted faries..when she died; the nurse and i found the biggest pair of wings she had on her wall and dressed her in her amazing fairy attire...Adrielle Rose was her name and she said she jumped off another planet to come to earth to help her Mother an artist! Adrielle was magical! Fairies are very very very real!
I must confess to doing just that in my childhood. But I grew up and soon knew that fireflies need to fly free in their nightly mating rituals just like we humans do. Who are we to capture nature and make it ours for our purposes when it dies in our hands?
