Oh! To rise between the ashes like the eagle in soar-flight
biting off the night with fisted talons out of sight
Oh! To aim and render service not to demons of the night
but to stars that shine asunder with stabilizing light;
Closer to the sun as ever moon shall be he's flying free
with aeroponic wings of love held fast by life's decree
He is poetry in motion as Majestic as can be
Oh! To rise above the fire just to see what HE can see!
INDEED, MY FRIEND...THE WORD OF GOD GIVES US THIS INFALLIBLE PROMISE! FOR IT TELLS US THAT '....THOSE THAT WAIT UPON HIM WILL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH, MOUNTING UP WITH WINGS...LIKE EAGLES...' THUS, WITHOUT QUESTION '...THOSE THAT, THROUGH FAITH, 'OVERCOMETH' WILL ONE DAY...RISE ABOVE ALL OBSTACLES LIVING FOREVER IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD! A FINE INSPIRATIONAL WORK, SO ENJOYED. THANK YOU! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
You made me recall the bald eagle in North America. Almost gone when I spotted one feeding off a calf that had been thrown out in the back 40 by a farmer after it died.
It was a cold windy January day when I saw the eagle high in a tree. I called the DNR to tell them I had spotted him.
Bald eagles have overcome the fire of their cracked eggs by DDT and are now commonly seen by me and others all across this great land again.
Your poem rises with the same lift and luminosity as the eagle you describe. I love how you frame ascent not as escape, but as a movement toward clarity — toward that higher vantage where light steadies the soul. The imagery is bold and beautifully cinematic: “biting off the night,” “aeroponic wings of love,” “stars that shine asunder.” Each line feels like a step upward through fire into vision.
