whether my muse be dream, or fantasy, or real. Only she and i know who we are and always shall.
4-3-2013

Refracted light of tiny blinking suns
undaunted by Romeo's bright moonbeams.
Against an ebony obsidion sky
reflected in the flow of Blue River.
High Kiamichis not even in view
two lay on a blanket gazing starward.
He of the sliver hair, head on clasped hands
she with emerald eyes, hair like cornsilk.
Thier blanket spread over soft Johnson grass
amid Black Jack, Cedars and Rosebuds.

Aromatic Bachelor Buttons and sage
add scented flavor to rose and moss bank.
Current flowing over rocks and driftwood
play rhythm for the bass of old bullfrogs.
As the tenor of an owl's who whoing
with cicadia's percussion and breezy limbs.
Solos and arias by whippoorwills
and ever dancing lightning bug's glow.
He and she smile with eyes for each other
instead of continued starlight gazing.

A Chickasaw Cupid keeps watching on
accompanied by a Choctaw Eros.
With tiny cheecked cherubs around
all making giggling wagers on a kiss.
He raises on elbow leaning to her
puts trembling fingers through her cornsilk hair.
Cupid picks up bow and places arrow
hand drops to face as a first kiss is shared.
Golden arrow loosed piercing two as one
two sit now one again gazing starward.

I once laid on a blanket, as this, with a true love, and he wanting to point out and name every growing thing around us and yet I gazed at his silver hair in awe, Thank you so much for the memory

What a beautifully written poem...
A muse can bring such inspiration as some of my
muses do as well... To be inspired to write so
magnificently is a talent only a few are able to
put down in such descriptive words...

Breathtaking...

Brilliant poem, Budd.
Love the "blinking suns....reflected in the River",
enjoyed very much the time with birds songs and..."aromatic
Bachelor Buttons"...., which I know as a cornflower growing
in corn crop fields (wheat, barley),..sage (anti-aging herb),
...much pressure for romantically challenged, with a Chickasaw
County Cupid's arrows set loose upon......love starved...
that happened to be gazing up, reaching to the stars,...
and those... really got me landing on cloud nine.
Thank you for sharing. Isabella.
