Poem Artwork

The once pristine white paint peeling at end
where it still did cling to old rotting boards.
No doors or stained glass windows were there in
natures creatures and clime no longer barred.
As the old man knelt where altar had been
he had sought this house to talk to the Lord.
Without icons that had once been within
and give Him praise for the blessings bestowed.
He had followed the path as it lead him
having his only guide the written Word.

This has much sentiment in it. The old man knows better than many of us how to get in touch with his higher power.

I am positive his prayers were heard by the Lord. One can pray just as well in surroundings like that even so it is not the magnificent Sistine Chapel. Wonderful poem...

You've symbolized the decaying church with only an old man left to come to it. I can easily see the great churches of the world becoming museums to our brutal past. When I was in Cologne at the Cathedral I noticed that the medieval stained glass had not been faithfully replaced after the bombing of World War II. The replacement glass paled by comparison.

The "Word" ...a treasure chest to life... once opened you have all the answers you need to stay on the path to your eternal destiny...

Most think the Bible to be a book only, but it is the living and breathing word. II Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God Breathed..

When I read this Budd, I heard, Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and morrow, it judges the thoughts and atitudes of the heart. Heb 4:12

He supplies all our need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

This poem reminds me of my body, slowly deteriorating everyday, yet God's "word" motivates new life daily, to continue on the journey.

No earthen frills, no adornments, just pure faith.

with Spirit/God alone showing respect to the almighty...
A very personal private time shared with no other but Him...
I love this beautiful picture you painted of this man and Him
in the archaic ruins of a place of worship... how fitting for the
time He has been around all of us...
