An eerie fog drifts across the land
turning living things into shadows.
Arm stretched you can't see your hazy hand
while wandering about these hollows.
To stumble here with nary a friend
gives weighted fear of thing that follows.
Searching eyes and nape hairs that now stand
while gulping air thats hard to swallow.
Just go back to hearth and poke a brand
better to venture out tomorow.

Hey, Budd, liked this one. Like a telegram to further thought. Compact, allusive and elusive. Very nice.

Being out in the fog, not seeing clearly, I've been there.

Always,

Yes, I would say it would be "better to venture out tomorrow".

Love ya!

~Budd~
When things of clarity come tomorrow.
Quite eerie fog, night and nape hairs.
Yes, by the hearth.

I have walked in these kind of nights and it is truly a kind of out of this world walk.

I can feel how, down through the ages, fog must have affected people walking at night causing fear of the unknown "out there." Your poem provides a ready solution… a warm hearth.
