Amid this world of orange and black
treats abound to keep tricks at bay.
As the golden orb rises this dark
on this all hallows eve's foray.
Steeped in tradition of times gone by
of creaking sounds and scary sights.
Fearful wraiths making grown men cry
all hopeing to see next dya's light.
Ghoulies and goblins knock at my door
venturing out among the hordes.
To pass dire decorations galore
smiles on faces for sweet rewards.
Princesses, frogs, cowboys and much more
wee ones, toddlers, teens, one and all.
Wandering about from door to door
everyone enjoys this nights fall.

It has been many years since anyone came to my gate. Partly because the community started a party that all the kids go to. And partly because some kids, and their parents, were afraid to come to the door of a guy in a wheelchair. I accepted that because of the bother of making sure I pleased the kids and didn't make any of them feel unwelcome.
