An Autumn Folly

Just a playful thought I had, as I was driving through the West Virginia Panhandle today.
Happy Thanksgiving to all here

November 22, 2017

 Blowing brisk November winds
sing through naked tendrils
While billowing darkened clouds
piled high alike these hills.
Played hide and seek with the sun
who cannot share his warmth
and furred dwellers rush and run
to hide their food at hearth.

Leaves whisp about in winds
now lost from those tendrils
and we see shapes in the clouds
as they race over hills.
All creatures wish for more sun
so they could feel its warmth
but now we hasten and run
for comfort at our hearth.

Winds singing through the tendrils
while clouds race over the hills
without the sun for our warmth
we run to feel our hearth.

So poetic, beautifully captures an autumn moment...Absolutely love it.

the point of time is very nicely caught in this piece to show the reign of dominated Yin forces outside and a spark of the Yang within us. Cheers, alex

The words you have chosen to express your thoughts are very vivid!
They create, for me, a beautiful picture of fall, my favorite season.
Thank you for sharing, and continued success!

Ahh, I am enjoying the feel of this poem! Like the way you say so much, so potently in so few words. Sure am glad you share your writings, friend. I'll be stopping in more.

Home sweet home, hearth and warmth; these are most apt and timely sentiments, Budd. Happy Thanksgiving! Love and peace,

Hightailing it to hearth and home. Nothing better on a cold, blustery autumn day.

I'm attempting to write a poem that is similar, but blogged down in its simplicity.

Autumn gives time to prepare for the coming winter. I'm now ready to hunker down and hibernate. Happy Thanksgiving Bud.

When the brisk November winds arrive, the sun has to faithfully regress and winter wears her headdress. I enjoyed your poetry Budd, it's a great poem to read close to the hearth. With a nice glass of wine, and Nat King Cole crooning in my ear, sun would be forgiven. Thank you for the visit to my imagination, stay warm and close to hearth. Until spring peeks her lovely face and sun begins to dance again.

There is nothing like an Autumn day in West Virginia. You have captured it well.

Budd....A great piece of writing....Some of our best writing ideas come when were sitting behind the steering wheel of our cars....
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, too....

I love watching the clouds move. I've always thought of the sun as a "she" and not a "he." Like Mother Nature.
