I wonder sometimes,
How many potential superhumans,
Isaac Newtons and Albert Einsteins,
Selahaddin Ayyubis and Ibn Khalduns,
Have either been deformed as children,
Or terminated as unborn babies,
Prevented by the choice of others,
Given no chances to surive,
As many have been neglected,
In war-torn countries,
Left to die by some bomb,
As little Ismail who lost all four
Limbs and family in Baghdad
As he slpet In the comfort of his home,
Not to forget other children in
Afghanistan, Kashmir, Chechnya,
Bosnia, Palestine, and around the world,
All maimed for life.
Others are being imposed by strict
Rigid education in schools
That prohibit and outlaw
Individuality and thinking ability,
But where students are
Only allowed to regurgitate
What is fed to them by the system,
And robotic humans are manufactured
For the success of -Isms.
No matter how cruel a world this is,
We have got to alter habits,
To stop and think about
Where we are heading?
What are our responsibilities?
These Remind me of the poem
"Musé Des Beaux": where Icarus
Lands in the water after a failed
Attempt to fly and an ignorant donkey
Continues to scratch his behind
Along a tree-And the world continues
Unawares.
Esra, this is a very deep write that takes the reader into a very sad and thought provoking realm...very well done! ~Z~

Esra,
This is true and it's very heartrending, but we should not condemn all people in the -isms. There are good and bad in all of them. Also, it is beyond our capacity to make judgements upon any person or any group of people. Sad to say, as long as there's a world there will be injustice. Still, we have to continue to keep alive our hope for a better place.
