She’s My Baby, Too!

She’s a seasoned gal,
Her vintage is 1973.
Her bow has crested mighty waves
Taller than she is long.

Neglected by cruel masters,
She was destined for scrap.
Her diminished appearance evoked
The vision of a lady fallen from grace.

Tenderly and lovingly,
I restored her to her regal self.
Now, when I beckon her to dance,
She waltzes across the water.

Her bonnet modestly cloaks
A supercharged Corvette 350.
Zero to sixty in no time flat,
The dock boys preen, "Ain’t she nifty!"

Some, who should know, say,
"That’s when they used to build them,
"One at a time.
"And, oh, ain’t she fine."

Like a lioness,
She purrs.
Provoke her Cobra stern drive,
And she’ll lunge and leave you in a spray.

She’s my baby, too!
