The dream came and revealed
your supremacy.
How could my breadth have been so small
as to question your sovereign nature?
To wonder at medicinal necessities
that take me into frightful realms, wake me
in a pool of sweaty fear and make me doubtful
of your ability to rearrange my visions.
But you revealed yourself by piercing
the dark substance I had come to expect.
You lifted me into flight
and poured your presence over me.
You disclosed yourself in the body
of a small dark man who touched me gently
and sent radiance through my core.
You were the pilot of an airborne machine.
You lifted your passengers high above the earth.
Those who knew you and those who did not.
You told us that we could be glorified through your character.
My son walked from the back of the plane
and embraced your counsel.
Janet I really liked this one as it had so much expression to it with great images of your dreamscape drifting in and out with reality and trust in this man.
Yes, yes, yes! Can so relate to this, Janet and you have brilliantly given an accurate picture of the vulnerability and feelings of isolation that any life-threatening situation can give rise to. That being said, saving grace can come to us through any person and in any way that our strong faith enables it to be received in the instant we are able to empty ourselves of the "big freeze" and to trust. As others have said, this is a write which leaves us grappling, in fact - for me in particular with the last two lines - but that can be so true of these sorts of situations where we trust, know and feel ahead of what our brains eventually catch up to decipher and understand. You are the master at creating atmosphere and pulling your readers right into the centre of whatever you express. BEAUTIFUL new biog pic, too! So youthful and optimistic!
