A poem about a man and a vase he fell in love with and his wife who loves him.
While strolling through a shop
Of oddities one day
My husband gazed upon a vase
With far away look on his face
Staggered I'd never seen
Actions these
With vase in box safe held
He silently walked on
Offer did I to carry it
Refused did he with lightened fit
Returning home I deemed
My release
I went straight to my bed
Relinquishing my mind
A knock came on my chamber door
Your husband died the hour before
T'was all like in a dream
Alas cease
The vase which he had bought
The same day that he died
I chose to have his ashes placed
Into this vase on fireplace
He and I still a team
He's at peace
A day or two had past
The dirge faded away
While sipping on a cup of tea
Within the vase what did I see
His face looking at me
Gazed with ease
Many years have gone by
I will no callers see
My husband and I talk away
Of winters, fall, the month of May
I hold the vase we kiss
I'm appeased
