Life lessons are learned in many ways.

Poem Artwork

Sailboat and I set out for fun
Although the sky was grey
Wishful the sun would reappear
I sailed into the bay

An unexpected storm arose
The wind with vengence blew
Rain felt like bullets on my skin
Gusts sent the boat askew

Making my way back to the shore
Using what I had learned
Of prowess and my fortitude
As that small boat I turned

A lesson learned I too upon
That bay amidst the gales
When winds as life can't be controlled
We must adjust the sails

You are quite a sailor woman! Methinks this poem comes from experience on the water. I think I'll eat a can of spinach and think upon it. ;-)

This is a very wise life lesson Jane and sometimes we have to learn it by (bitter) experience.

A poem to be digested and saved within your memory as a silver bell will tinkle a warning when you set out on a new journey. Do not delay, by all means go, take that journey, but prepared for sharp curves in the road, or a gale which can take on many forms.
